The video portrays a modern retelling of arranged marriages gone wrong, echoing themes of familial power struggles and emotional manipulation seen in Shakespeare’s "Measure for Measure." Review: Marriage as a筹码 in family politics; echoes of "Measure for Measure" in corporate dynastic control and emotional betrayal.

Overview:

Rachel Lane has been in love with Ethan Sean for a long time. Three years ago, Jenna Sean, Ethan’s mother, took the liberty to propose a marriage between the daughter of the Lane family and his son to get Mr. Lane’s support in controlling the Sean Group. Rachel was pleased with the proposal. She thought she would be happy forever. However, that only served as the start of her misery. After getting married, Rachel learned that Ethan loved her sister, Shirley Lane, and ignored her all the time. Her mother-in-law also didn’t care about her. In fact, her marriage was nothing but a scam. Still, Rachel thought she could change their minds by looking after them. Three months ago, Ethan got drunk one day and had a wild night with Rachel in a hotel. The next morning, Rachel left him a note and went back home to cook breakfast for her mother-in-law. Shirley took the chance to sneak into Ethan’s room and lay beside him naked, causing Ethan to think he was with Shirley the night before.
