Twenty years ago, a sudden flood swept through Reid Village, and Daphne Frost's husband, Alfie Reid, disappeared in the raging waters while trying to fight the disaster, leaving her behind with their two children. Since then, Daphne has struggled to raise them on her own, enduring countless hardships over the years. Now, twenty years later, her children have grown up, but instead of gratitude, they shockingly try to force their mother into marrying a greedy, lecherous brute. Her son is only interested in money, while her daughter seeks an internship through the brute's connections. Both siblings relentlessly pressure their mother to go through with the wedding.
